A new feature will be regularly publishing some of the many letters of thanks I get for RAM 's services. Dear Rachel,   May I commend you on the RAM website?   On Sunday I was offered and accepted a long-term booking (ten sessions), and yesterday was separately offered and accepted a  long-term booking (seven sessions to start, with long-term potential) at a girls’ school.  And I haven’t even been on the website for a week!   I’m extremely impressed.   Many thanks.   Stephanie Dear Rachel, I wish to thank you for being a great leader and moderator - your enthusiasm and commitment to improve standards are admirable.   All the best,   Vanna  Hey Rachel! I feel I must mention the wonderful work RAM model Lucy Saunders and her colleague, Esther Bunting do via the marvellous organisation Spirited Bodies. The idea is that anyone can model - and these group events are truly joyous occasions. They also, very kindly, audition models for RAM membership. John had the pleasure of conducting a life-drawing class for a range of British celebrities. The Retreat had been invited to hold a surprise life-drawing session for contestants of Channel 4?s  Celebrity Coachtrip. Filmed at Senigallia's Palazzo Baviera, John taught a traditional life-drawing class with the  help of 'Retreat' model Lydia. The day was  light- hearted and full of humour which led to many of the guests promising to return to The Retreat for extra classes in the future. Amongst the participants were Paul Burrell, Canon&Ball, East Enders' Nick Cotton and a host of other celebrities. We are naming and shaming Norfolk County Council here. They have cut life models' pay from £8.44 per hour (already paltry) to an astonishing £6.44 per hour. These are rough figures as it's been difficult to find exact ones. However, the gist is a £2 per hour pay cut! If anyone from the council cares to respond, we're all ears! SHAME ON YOU!!

A model who was expelled from RAM many years ago is up to his old tricks. We've had complaints from adult education centres and colleges. He phones implying that he's seen an ad somewhere for models (which doesn't exist) or that the you have called him looking for a model (you haven't!). If he knows it he usually drops the name of someone in reception/office in the "conversation". eg "Ann phoned me to say you're looking for a life model ". He also often mentions RAM's name - or the name of Vic Stevens or Rachel McCarthy (2 people who help run RAM ). He goes under various aliases, including Peter or John Shilling, Whiteshilling, Myatt, Wyatt or White. He lives in Romford, but travels all over London and greater London.

Just a thought from Sarah King ( RAM model). I enjoy being able to pick up artists tips on how to draw 'me'!!!!! Learning whilst earning!
