RAM Recommended Pay Rate Goes UP!!

Hi all

The RAM recommended rate is now £15 per hour. Please note, this is what we want artists to aim for (or more!). They won't all achieve it straight away.

But please point it out to them!!

    That's great news! Some of the groups I sit for have been paying this (or more) for a while. Hopefully the other groups (and the colleges) will begin to take note. I know it won't happen overnight, but it is a start!

    Yes £15 seems about right - I will start saying THIS IS THE NEW RATE and see what happens .

    Yes! Please emphasise it's the new recommended (as opposed to what we expect them to pay straight away) rate. Baby steps!

Life Modelling During the Coronavirus Crisis

I know many models are struggling and wondering what will happen to life modelling jobs. First of all, if any of you are having issues with tutors or artists about not being paid for work you have been booked for, please let me know. I'll do what i can to help. Artists are in the same boat, don't forget. The arts  industry is being decimated by this awful virus. One piece of long awaited good news is that the self employed will now receive 80% of their earning averaged over the last 3 years. What RAM means to me, by Dominic Blake: I have been life and portrait modelling for just over a year, and am now a full time life model, having left a conventional job to pursue my dreams of immersing myself more intimately within the artistic community.  I would like to take a brief moment to write about what being a member of RAM means to me.
